Pitch Your Vision Junior
JA Canada provides hands-on experiential learning in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities. Programs focus on three educational pillars: financial health, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. JA recruits volunteers from the business community to collaborate on the delivery of programs, which exposes students to real world business perspectives and ideas.

About Pitch your Vision JR.
Pitch your Vision Jr. is a version of the JA Pitch Your Vision program (for high school students) made appropriate for students in Grades 5-6. This learning experience gives students an opportunity to explore creating, developing and pitching ideas for launching a new entrepreneurial venture. Students will work in small teams, developing teamwork, leadership and collaboration skills while learning the basics of business and entrepreneurship.
Upon completing the program, teachers are invited to submit their top business idea to JA Central Ontario to be included in a regional competition.
Teacher Role
The teacher will act as a business advisor, and supervisor to their students, helping them develop and test ideas while developing an understanding of business and entrepreneurship through this experiential program.
The responsibility of the teacher is to help the students organize and assemble information so that they can make sound business decisions, without making those decisions for them. This is accomplished by understanding the program, highlighting important factors and asking questions which will stimulate the students' thinking throughout the process.

Work closely with the students, and communicate with your JA Program Manager to ensure the success of the program

Lead students through the program as outlined below

Supervise the students and ensure they are following all guidelines

Review each lesson/activity and prepare for your class time

Be comfortable and willing to share your own professional experience/knowledge

Ensure the students are meeting all outcomes of the program

Preparation time will vary

The program is designed to take place over 6 hours (6 x 1 hour lessons). This can be done all once, or over several days or weeks.

There are many extension opportunities with this program - the teacher can expand upon this experience to make connections across curriculum and may wish to dedicate more than the recommended time to these activities.
