Lesson Four Activity Plan:
1. Open link to A Penny Saved Activity Plan
2. Use Save, Bank, Credit Union from Key Terms Picture Cards
3. Discuss in group - What would you buy if you earned money by watching your neighbour's pet for the weekend? If you did not spend your money, what would you do with the rest? Where do you keep the money you save?
4. Read My Savings Goal on pg.29 of the Teacher's Guide to the group
5. Ask follow up questions - Does your family use a bank? How do banks help your family?
6. Read and have the group participate in the Three Little Nickels Fingerplay
7. Read and have the group participate in Three Shiny Quarters Fingerplay
8. Have students open their My Junior Journal Mini book pg. 4 Use a pair of dice to have students take turns rolling the dice. Match the number on the dice to the dollar amount on the Piggy Bank Activity. Students can colour in the matching dollar amount with crayons
