Lesson 3: Businesses All Around the Neighbourhood activity plan
Completion requirements
Review the "Guide for Volunteers and Teachers".
- Use the "Vocabulary Flash Cards" to review the key definitions with the students.
- Place the "Floor Map" on the classroom floor and review the symbols on the map with the students. Use the "Business Symbol Cards" to have students add new businesses to the map.
- Hand out a "Business Map sheet" and "Business Map Symbol sticker sheet" to each student. Students will use the stickers to add new businesses to their map.
- Complete the optional "Neighbourhood Businesses memory game" if desired for further review of common businesses found in most neighbourhoods.
- Hand out the "Junior Journal" to each student and have them complete the optional Goods and Services activity, if time permits.
