Completion requirements
Review the "Guide for Volunteers and Teachers".
- Display the "Neighborhood Poster" and review how the poster shows people working together to make their neighborhood a nice place to live.
- Use the "Vocabulary Flash Cards" to review the key definitions with the students.
- Hand out the "Picture Book" and "Picture Book sticker sheet" and have students place their stickers and complete the book as they follow along.
- Review the "Earning Money flash cards" and the "What Can You Do With Your Money?" discussion questions if desired. These are optional activities that provide further review of the Grade 1 financial literacy learning outcomes of the updated Alberta curriculum.
- Hand out the "Junior Journal" to each student and have them complete the optional Make a Family Flag activity, if time permits.
