Lesson 2: Money for Needs and Wants activity plan
Completion requirements
Review the "Guide for Volunteers and Teachers".
- Use the "Vocabulary Flash Cards" to review the key definitions with the students.
- Place the "Our Needs and Wants Chart" on the wall. Review the "Needs and Wants picture card set" with the students and add the items to the wall chart.
- Students play the Needs and Wants Game in their "Junior Journal". If time permits, they can also complete the Make a Match activity.
- Complete the optional "Coins and Bills worksheet" and "Credit and Debit Card worksheet". While not mandatory, these worksheets provide further alignment with the Grade 1 financial literacy outcomes of the new Alberta curriculum.
